About me
My Studies I am a philologist and I speak three languages. I am a well - qualified teacher of Spanish Language (MA in Linguistics). My specialization focuses on contrastive analysis among Spanish and Greek language. I know how to create a linguistic corpus and how to transcribe audio recordings into text. You may see a sample of my work by following this link: https://independent.academia.edu/AlexandraAsvesta Some of the subjects of my studies were/are: Bachelor degree: Ancient Greek Language, Latin Language, History, Greek Comedy – Greek Tragedy Master degree: Methodology of Investigation in applied linguistics, Sociolinguistics, Pragmatics, Transfer of investigation results, Course planning, Investigation and data analysis, writing of essays, post graduate work (dissertation) based on the comparative method At that point, I would like to add that my fluency, as far as English and Spanish languages are concerned, is noticeable, taking into consideration my stay for studies in these two countries, especially in Spanish language. My Experience 2004 – 2008 During my studies, when I was living in Athens, I worked for four years in the Ministry of Development, as an administrative employee, where, among my duties, my task was to translate texts from Spanish or English to Greek. It was a really interesting post that offered me the chance to develop skills and experience, related to translation. April 2010 – May 2010 During my master, I did my Practical Training in the Publishing House Edinumen, in Madrid (Spain).I created a bilingual glossary: spanish – greek, accompanying the Spanish book: Prisma, Fusión, nivel A1 + A2 and B1+ B2 November 2014 – March 2015 I did a Practical Training during the organization of the V Conference of Junior Researchers in Madrid (Spain). My task was to revise scientific articles, correct any possible reference style mistakes and omissions. I made a general revision of texts and I created an excel table, mentioning any omissions detected (before a book, containing these articles, was published).
