I'm and artist and educator based in West Midlands, UK. I have over 10 years experience in the photographic industry and I'm currently a part-time Lecturer on BA (Hons) Photography at University of Portsmouth and a Visiting Lecturer on BA (Hons) Photography at Arts University Bournemouth. I studied MA Photography at Royal College of Art, graduating with distinction. I hold a PGCert in Creative Education and am a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
My art practice works across performance, photography, moving image, and text and is informed by intersectional feminist discourse and my background in dance. My research is centred around the body, often adopting choreographic tools and strategies from dance as a means to explore the performativity of image-making. I am interested in performance as both a medium and a research methodology. The body as image and representations of womxn in visual culture are on-going areas of interest in my work. My recent research has been exploring the intersection of art and science, exploring neuroplasticity through performance and moving image.
My work has been exhibited in the UK and internationally, in group and solo exhibitions at institutions and festivals such as Wilhelm-Hack-Museum (DE), Museum of London (UK), Hanes Art Gallery (USA), Peckham 24 (UK), A Performance Affair (BG), Summerhall (UK) & The Nunnery Gallery (UK).
