I am a womenswear fashion designer, graduating from University for the Creative Arts Epsom with a bachelors degree in Fashion Design. My inspirations for my collections have stemmed from a variety of origins including a variety of subcultures, historical undergarments and interests outside fashion, not limited to music and literature. My strengths reside in concept development, CAD design, Adobe Creative Suite (including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) aiding my design process and illustration, from my background in fine art. I strive to create my own label in the future, however, I aim to work with high-end brands and designers to build my skill set and to work with like-minded creatives.

- 1949-1984Alexandra Hodgson’s ‘1948-1984’ collection draws inspiration from George Orwell’s classic dystopian novel ‘1984’. The novel was a large part of her life and a nod to her more academic education.From here, Hodgson designed inspired by the 40s style, when the novel was published and the 80s style that developed later. During my three years of study, I have built up my knowledge and skill level in a variety of areas within the fashion industry. I am now confident with using the adobe creative suite, particularly when using Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. In addition to this, I am very comfortable when using industrial machinery, when designing to a brief and can bring a wider range of knowledge into the project I am doing.
During third year, I have also been acting as a Student Ambassador. My role involved communicating between students and course boards as well as being selected to interview for future board members of staff at UCA and feedback on the course.
