Oxford Music Graduate looking for Creative work in LondonLondon, United Kingdom
About me
I recently graduated from the University of Oxford with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music. During my time at university I have been heavily involved in extra curricular music, as a choral scholar in the chapel choir of the Queen’s College (2017-20), solo singer with the University of Oxford Jazz Orchestra (OUJO) 2019-20, and a member of the Oxford Gargoyles student-run jazz a cappella group, of which I was Publicity officer in 2017-19 and Musical Director in 2018-19. I have also performed as a solo classical singer and in classical vocal consorts. I enjoy a wide range of musical genres but am particularly passionate about classical and jazz music, spending most of my spare time listening to or making it. I am a keen composer and achieved a first for the portfolio of 4 contemporary classical compositions I submitted for my bachelor's degree. With experience of working in a fast-paced environment, I am resilient, hardworking and a fast learner, and have learned to produce high quality, detailed work within a short period of time. I speak fluent English and Danish and French at a conversational level (limited working proficiency). Having studied essay subjects including Latin and French at A Level and English Literature to AS level, I have developed strong written communication skills. I gained my teamwork and interpersonal skills through extensive collaborative performance and academic group work whilst at university, as well as by working for At Your Service Event Staffing in a number of hospitality roles, and in a diverse range of volunteering roles. With experience as a tutor and a shop assistant for Cancer Research, I love to work with and for other people, and thrive in roles that require friendly communication as well as creativity and professionalism.

⚬ Directing group rehearsals and auditions ⚬ Directing and rehearsing the group's show at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival ⚬ Leading an a cappella workshop at St Albans Girls' School ⚬ Directing group recordings and liaising with producers This role gave me the most responsibility I have had to date. Directing 12 other singers for rehearsals, recordings and concerts gave me highly valuable leadership experience, requiring constant decision-making, effective time management and goal-setting. By balancing discipline with constructive feedback and help for those who needed it, I learned to manage any problems or tensions that arose in an effective and sensitive manner. I was able to develop my presentation and communication skills by leading an a cappella workshop for school students and speaking on behalf of the group at concerts and gigs.
