Photographer who studied MA Photojournalism and Documentary Photography and BA (Hons) Photography in the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London. Experimenting with a wide range of photographic genres, both in analogue and digital photography, my work as an artist mainly focuses on the visual documentation and investigation of sociopolitical affairs and their impact on contemporary society through the changing landscape. My practise as a photographer covers a broad scheme touching on documentary work and theory, fashion and commercial work and working with analogue photography.
My early experience with art has allowed me to work with different media such as fine art alongside photography. My position as an NGO and a cultural parliament member in the past allowed me to assist with organising and documenting exhibitions as well as networking with people of different disciplines in organisation of projects. My artistic experience has given me an enthusiastic approach in being interested in different disciplines such as architecture, graphic design and book publishing.
My recent work as a photographer looks at visually investigating the aftermath of the 1964-1974 conflict in Cyprus and the effect that war aftermath has had upon war victims. My work as a photography student at the London College of Communication has allowed me to employ a wide range of artistic disciplines in my own work ranging from professional darkroom experimenting to digital software and bookmaking as well as advance my technical skills in photography and conduct extended research in photographic theory. My experience as a student in the London College of Communication, as well as working as a Product Photographer, Event Photographer and Editorial Photographer in Cyprus has given me a comfortable experience working in creative teams, organising photoshoots, shooting products for e-commmerce and working in photographic studios.
In my two year military conscription as a Lance Corporal in the National Guard of Cyprus I was given the position of a Managing Assistant in a military office handling the main administrative affairs of my battalion, skills which have given me the necessary experience for administrative tasks as well as communication skills in handling cases concerning the function of military staff. My professional studies with Spanish and English as second and third languages apart from my maternal Greek have given me adequate communication and writing skills, as well as a confident understanding in linguistics.
