From a young age Alexyi had a great interest in hair and make-up, later developing into art and fashion also. His enthusiasm to learn and discover this field led him to study hair dressing and make-up which gave him the foundation to test and push boundaries, explore his creativity and gain valuable experience alongside a variety of photographers and artists.
Alexyi’s creativity stems directly from his family and it runs through the blood. His mother was a head seamstress for several fashion houses whilst growing up, and so he was always surrounded by an array of materials, textures, patterns and above all craftmanship. This came to his benefit when he was working on hair and fashion styling shoots, where he taught himself to design and create costumes, accessories, head pieces and props for bespoke and specific jobs.
With 20 years of experience in the fashion industry, one of his specialism is in hair and fashion styling, where he is at his happiest creating and expressing his originality, a credit he brings to every job. He has developed a profound understanding of dealing and delivering client needs and expectations, adapting to almost any assignment.
Further to working in styling, Alexyi has a passion to design, create and as he says “make the magic last longer”. With this phrase came the conception of his brand, ‘Designs by Alexyi’, focused on making wearable art in the form of hair accessories & headpieces.
His motto ‘A person should be a work of art or wear a work of art!’.
All of Alexyi’s designs are lovingly handmade, with care and precision, using quality materials from selected sources. His pieces express and bring to life his creative thoughts in visual form, one-off designs to keeping each piece as unique as the wearer.
