I am a multi-disciplinary textile designer in my final year at Arts University Bournemouth. I have a specialist interest in surface pattern design and tufting. I love to explore thoughtful hand-crafted approaches to design, intertwining them with digital elements. Sustainability is deeply incorporated in my work, from my choice of materials to the processes I use. I enjoy working on challenging briefs which motivate me to achieve innovative work and further my textile design skill set.
Projects
- Decaying ParadiseMy collection titled ‘Decaying Paradise’ was influenced by dystopian ideas and feelings of Escapism. I was inspired by my surroundings and photographs I captured of man-made objects discarded in nature, being engulfed by growing foliage. I experimented with the ancient Japanese resist dyeing technique ‘shibori’ as a way to create intricate patterns alongside traditional silk-screen printing.
