Ali Silao is currently BBDO Guerrero’s Head of Art. Before this, he worked at TBWASantiago Mangada Puno for a decade.
He took home the Philippines’ first Gold in the Young Spikes Competition in 2010. In 2013, he gave the country its first Webby Award for a short film called “Gift of Life.” His project, Shokobutsu Hana Water Billboard won the Grand Clio award in 2015.
His works have been recognized in Cannes, D&AD, The One Show, London International Awards, Spikes Asia, Clio Awards, New York Advertising Festivals, The Asian Adfest, Asian Marketing Effectiveness Awards, Digital Asia Awards, The Tangrams Awards, AWARD Awards, The Boomerangs, The Busan Ad Stars, Lürzer's Archive, Campaign Brief's The Work, The Adobo Design Awards, The Kidlat Awards, Tinta Awards, Araw Awards, Araw Values Awards, Adsoftheworld.com, and Best Ads on TV.
Ali was part of the 2014 and 2018 National Digital Arts Awards and the 2018 Kidlat Craft juries. he was a competition director for The Kidlat Awards twice and a board director for The 4A's Creative Guild of the Philippines 2020. In 2015, he was ranked the Philippines' #2 Art Director and #4 Creative Director in the annual Adobo Magazine Creative Rankings. And in 2021, he is Creative Pool's 12th Ranked Creative worldwide. Ali has also given numerous advertising talks in San Beda University, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, the De La Salle University, Thy Lyceum of the Philippines - Cavite, The National University, the University of the Philippines Diliman, and the University of the Philippines Los Baños.
Throughout his sixteen-years in advertising, Ali has handled almost all major brand categories and helped create campaigns for global brands like Pepsi, Jollibee, Snickers, Bench, M&Ms, Johnnie Walker, Mountain Dew, Nissan, Isuzu, Ford, Del Monte, Adidas, KFC, SPAM®, Energizer, and Old Spice.
