Claessens is my first Junior Designer role, working on high end drinks and alcohol packaging from start to end stages. I really enjoy being able to bring my work and practice from my degree as well as my internships into a permanent setting and breaking into the drinks industry which I have never had experience in before. It feels exciting every day to be able to be trusted to carry out projects by myself, drawing on knowledge from the creative and senior directors. I have been able to act upon changes and direction to my work but have always retained an element of creative control which has been really important for me to be able to thrive and want to push myself and my work more.

WMH&I was my longest placement, meaning I worked on a variety of projects; my first day involved helping with the final stage designs of their iconic window display, which is something I then was able to bring to life in an illustrative style, as well as through motion design further into my placement in order to bring the window design to live on Instagram. This was a really surreal project as it was something that I saw straight away every day when I walked into the office, and was a really nice way to see my work large scale in person. I also worked on publishing projects as well as a new business package which went out to prospective clients of the business. I thrived off the freedom that the creative team gave me whilst I was there, which was a major factor in increasing my confidence.

I graduated from Norwich University of the Arts in 2021 with a degree in Graphic Design. My degree allowed my creativity to flourish in a really supportive environment, where ideas were pushed and brought to life through projects both inside and out of the course. I have developed a passion for strong branding and packaging through copywriting and illustration, with ideas at the core of everything I do.
