About me

I grew up on Cockatoo Island in Sydney harbour, surrounded by industry and the sea. It was a childhood fuelled by creativity and imagination. My true passion is music and sound – how it makes you feel, how it can change the tone and ambiance of a picture and create a narrative. Since founding Groove Q with Dave Smith in 2001, I've delivered emotive & award-winning results for my clients. Creative partners value my listening & observation skills, technical mastery, & creative advice. I'm a graduate of the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and AFTRS (Orchestration for film). My film score composition work has featured at Cannes Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival and the Sydney Film Festival. I've been a Tropfest winner, Best Composition Awards winner (ProMax ANZ) and People’s Choice Award (B&T 2017) She has scored for TV series, award winning TV Channel ID campaigns, sound and music installations (Vivid & Burning Man 2018), TVC’s, and international brand campaigns. I've performed in ARIA award winning electronic dance bands, touring around Australia and the globe. I'm passionate about translating the ideas of my collaborators into the emotional language of music. • SoHo Channel MusicAt the heart of each of these promos is an emotional journey. Our goal was to capture those moments in music and let the audience experience a 'sonic break'.
• I AM AI - 2018 Burning Man InstallationThis Burning Man, Main Arena installation was a collaboration between artist Joe Crossley (Astral Projekt), Heckler Films and Groove Q. This installation is a curated collection of Human/ AI inspired media art pieces under the name 'IAMAI'. The ethos was to create a ceremonial space where we could acknowledge and celebrate the declaration of co-existence between man and machine. The installation comprised of 6 x Projector 360 ̊ media surface (1920 x 1200 @ 15k Lumens Epson laser Projectors) ..
• HAICHANG OCEAN PARK MERMAID RIDEWorking with Chinese theme park development company Hirain & Untitled Studios, Groove Q created the soundtrack to this 4D interactive theme park ride in Shanghai, China. Our hero Amy goes on an incredible journey to find the pearl that will save her kingdom. Along the way she encounters all kinds of creatures and returns a triumphant hero!
