Amaan Ali is a London-based documentary photographer and filmmaker whose work explores environmental crises, socio-political issues, and everyday life across different cultures. In addition to his documentary work, he also captures events and fashion.
His work has been featured in international publications including the Guardian, BBC, CNN, Earth Photo, and CIWEM. He has held exhibitions of his work at the Royal Geographical Society (London), Officine Fotografiche (Italy), The Reference (Seoul), MMX Gallery (London), and Stanley Picker Gallery (London).
Ali’s work has found notable appreciation across the globe. Most recently, he was awarded the Young Environmental Photographer of the Year (EPOTY 2021) award by Nikon Europe. In the past, he was acknowledged with the Life Framer award, and Earth Photo award (finalist) among others.
He is a recent graduate of Kingston School of Art's MA in Photography degree. His final project explored the complexities of Iranian activist Azhamat Azdhari's life and struggle through the documentary film 'Ruins of a Body'.
