About me
I am looking to begin my professional career and gain experience in the workplace. Having always held a deep interest for media, with an extensive knowledge of current affairs, the entertainment industry (as well as arts, fashion and culture) has always been a sector I have wanted to gain expertise in.
Currently, I am in my final year of study at Cardiff University – studying English Literature, Media and Journalism – My course has been incredibly varied so far, allowing me to explore my interests in cultural politics, mass media, public relations practices as well as literature ranging from classic to contemporary.
I am incredibly adaptable; I love a challenge and working in a fast-paced environment is something that excites me. Also, I have an extensive knowledge of social media and pop culture. In my spare time, I am constantly surrounding myself within the cultural and creative industries - reading, drawing, taking film photographs and watching (and analysing) films. This allows me to be constantly up to date on cultural politics and current affairs - which I believe to be vital in the PR field. Additionally, I value my organisation skills highly, as it allows me to be able to prioritise my tasks and work efficiently.

With four years of experience within the hospitality industry, I often find myself in situations where it is a necessity to endure the pressures of meeting the needs of clients whilst maintaining a constructive team environment. In my roles, I am frequently left alone to manage bars during busy club nights and concerts with my peers. This requires multitasking and efficient communication skills in order to efficiently manage the crowds during peak periods.

Shadowing the head of the ‘bigger picture’ department during my week’s placement, I was able to observe the inner workings of a media company, deepening my understanding on how they pass their campaigns – specifically their ‘Pass on Plastic’ campaign. This initiative spread from their online platforms to their programming and wider sports sponsorships - leading to single-use plastic being eliminated from many sports venues such as the Kia Oval. I loved the fast-paced atmosphere of the Sky offices, where it was clear that multiple projects were being worked on at once - and I see myself thriving in that kind of collaborative setting.
