I obtained a great amount of retail experience whilst working with Joules. I was trained in Cash Management, Stock Management, and Store Management. I also had the opportunity to expand my Visual Merchandising Portfolio, often being given the opportunity to style mannequins and the shop floor.
Whilst working at Mansion House, I learned how to provide Luxury Customer Service to an elite demographic. These are skills I have been able to carry with me to my job in Selfridges. I also increased my confidence regarding working with new people and big teams as my colleagues were different for each shift. Since then, I feel comfortable among all types of people.
Whilst working at Wilko, I was able to gain a vast amount of industry knowledge which I have carried forward with me into my life now. Customer Service, Stock Handling and Replenishment, Visual Merchandising, Cash Handling and basic Health and Safety training were all a part of my role.
My first job with Arthur Johnson and Son improved my Customer Service, Organisational Skills, Cash Handling and Stock Handling.
Whilst at university, my confidence and knowledge have increased greatly. I have experienced new opportunities both on and off-campus. On-campus, I have learned skills in Visual Merchandising, Styling, Adobe Software, and Sketchup. These skills have improved my working ability incredibly and I am eager to bring them into the workplace. Off-campus, I have been able to land a fantastic job with Ted Baker in Selfridges and liaise with people from loads of places in the world, expanding my cultural knowledge and social skills.
The Young Enterprise Award was given to a small team and I. We introduced a new fashion brand called Vindæ, deriving from the word 'vintage' in Latin. Here, we upholstered, repaired and restyled unloved clothing and sold these online to give them a new life. The focus of the project was sustainability and charity. All profits made were given to charities which had directly supported team members in the past.
The European Computer Driving License (ECDL) Award proves my skills and competency using basic computer functions.
