Hello-I'm Amelia, dedicated Artist and Entrepreneur. My career combines work as both a professional ceramic artist and a professional content editor. I work freelance for a variety of international projects. In 2017 I started FrikiFish, an online magazine to share stories of creativity and craftsmanship and support my local creative community.

• FrikiFish: Barcelona's Online Art Magazine in EnglishFrikiFish is an online magazine exploring art, creative culture and emerging talent in Barcelona. We invite our readers inside Barcelona's creative scene—facilitating engagement among creatives and sharing a myriad of projects by local talent. We support local artists and makers in order to strengthen and diversify a vibrant creative culture for everyone to enjoy. You can find articles on contemporary art, under-known artists, modern makers, events and exhibitions, reviews and creative news. W
• Online Shop & Creative BlogAmeliaJohannsen.com is my personal website for artistic endeavors. It includes a blog, online shop, image gallery, events calendar and online tutorials. I am responsible for all aspects of this website from the logo and web design to creation of all its content. I also manage all of the social media and newsletters associated with this project.
• Ceramic Design Concepts: River RocksI grew up rafting the rivers of the Pacific Northwest, thus I have a special place in my heart for river rocks. This is a collection of ceramic and stone artwork I started in 2019.
• Contributor to Metropolitan Magazine, Barcelona SpainIn 2019 I wrote two articles related to the Ceramic Arts for Metropolitan; Barcelona's magazine in English with content on day-to-day living and the essential guide to what's on in the city.
• Work in Progress - MosaicIn my efforts to live a more zero-waste life, I use my unloved pots and broken bits from the ceramic studio to create mosaic artwork. Here is my current work-in-progress.
• Teacher at the Ceramics Congress 2019In 2019 I recorded a 20-minute video tutorial for the Online Ceramics Congress. I demonstrated two ceramics decoration techniques. I was responsible for recording and editing the video. The tutorial is now available to watch for free on my website.

Amelia Johannsen is a dedicated ceramic artist and craftswoman based in Barcelona, Spain. She creates both fine art and sculptural pieces as well as functional pottery for everyday use. Amelia strives to explore her creative limits with clay while at the same time maintaining a grounded practice based on tradition and craft. Amelia's profound connection with nature shines through in her work, combining contemporary design with colors and textures found in the great outdoors. She creates wild scenes from roaring beaches and hidden corners from pristine forests, reminding us that nature is never far away.
