As the Sales Support Intern, my primary responsibilities included the production, distribution and management of all necessary import & registration documentation for all new vehicles and also communication of all global logistics and scheduling plans for wholesaled motor cars. The position required that I was in constant communication with both dealers and customers, and as a result I have become an articulate and confident communicator. I have learnt to be a diligent team player, all the while being able to consistently and professionally manage my independent projects and tasks. Working predominantly independently meant that I had to ensure that I worked effectively at all times, and a result I was able to develop my organisational and time efficiency skills to ensure that I always met deadlines. I frequently worked on tasks pertaining to production planning and schedule reporting which helped me to develop keen attention to detail at a high standard. Most importantly from my placement, I was taught to fully understand and appreciate the provision of customer service at the top tier of retailing. I worked outside of the office on several events, further expanding my commercial awareness and this taught me that it is always important to strive for creativity and differentiation in a saturated market. During my placement year I was also able to spend time on secondment to work on global customs and export topics including temporary movements, export controls, training development and new product launches.
Whilst I was on my placement I was awared the BMW SpeedUp future talent scholarship for 2015-16.
