About me
Born in Bradford, Amy is an artist working mostly in painting, drawing and printmaking. She has lived and worked in London since graduating from Chelsea Collage of Art in 2015.
She uses her work as a way of reimagining colour, perspectives and texture in the everydayness of domestic life. Through exploring the world in this way, she is constantly inspired to look closely and celebrate ordinary objects and spaces.
Amy’s distinctive illustration style was recognised when she was selected as ‘emerging talent’ by TexSelect in 2015 – this led to a solo exhibition of her work for Premier Vision in Paris. Following this Amy worked as a print designer for Cosmique Global in New Delhi where she worked closely with local crafts people to transform her drawings into textile products for clients. Her interior print collection was bought by Oliver Bonas and stocked & sold in outlets throughout the UK.
Since then, her work has continued to develop and take on ambitious creative avenues with a particular focus on expanding into public spaces. Recent projects include making an installation for Brainchild Festival 2019 where she painted giant fabric walls in the form of a ‘sun shelter’; working as an art director for LGBQ+ ‘Into the Mirror 2019’ and designing and painting a mural for The Ritzy Cinema, Picturehouse Brixton 2020. Amy currently freelances from her studio in south east London.
