About me
Dr Amy Borsuk is a scholar, editor, theatre critic, and dramaturg, with experience in HE teaching, academic publishing, theatre criticism, online journalism, production dramaturgy, and digital humanities (specifically, applications of digital technologies in humanities research and theatre performance). I study contemporary Shakespeare theatre, anti-racist and feminist dramaturgies, digital technology onstage, and the political economy of theatre. I have published in Research for Drama Education, Humanities, Borrowers and Lenders, and Shakespeare Bulletin. My work is interdisciplinary and I am confident in editing and teaching across humanities and social science disciplines. I am currently seeking a dramaturgical, editorial role and/or tutorial work. I have been a guest editor for two academic journals, copy-editor and book reviews copy writer for Ms Magazine, and literary fellow managing theatre script submissions for Center Theatre Group Los Angeles. I am versatile, highly organised and self-driven, with a strong eye for detail, and have sophisticated critical thinking skills.

Designed, organised and produced a 100,000 word dissertation researching the emerging practice of being ‘radical’ in the UK Shakespeare theatre industry. I examine how the term is used to describe performance and commercial practices, from Shakespeare’s Globe’s changing practices, to the industry-wide strategies for gender and racial equity through casting, to the RSC’s recent tech-driven turn.
