Writer, editor, poet, radio presenter and podcast creator. Interested in environmentally-conscious writing, thinking and creative work, and showcasing the creativity of others. Creator and co-host of Unlatched Podcast, a podcast set up during the lockdown to share spoken word and original music. Professionally: Production Editor at Cicerone Press, an independent outdoor travel guidebook publisher. Co-host and editor of Footnotes: the Cicerone Podcast and event organiser of Cicerone Live.

Our guests included plenty of Cicerone authors, talking about walking and hiking routes in England, Wales, Spain, Italy and even Tajikistan.     Waterlogged Poetry: Elder BeckBack in 2018, I set off into the Lake District to record a series of site specific poetry films at rivers, tarns and becks. Avoiding the classic lakes, I chose places that I remembered from my childhood in Cumbria. I wanted to explore local and personal history in relation to the physical landscape, and show the relationship between water and Cumbria.     Cicerone Press is the UK's largest outdoor travel guidebook publisher. As a Production Editor, I am responsible for seeing the book from submission through to proof finalisation. Published projects include: Hiking the Overland Track, Walking in the White Peak - East, Walking on the Greek Islands: the Cyclades, Low-level and easy walking in Snowdonia: South, Walking in the Scottish Borders and Hadrian's Cycleway. Books I am currently working on are Walking in the White Peak - West, Walking in Lancashire, Walking on Corsica and Cycling the Reivers Route. My role involves: - Reviewing manuscripts at submission - Preparing the manuscript and other files for an external copyeditor (Word styling, photo selection, editor checklists, calculating page extents and job fees, negotiating any structural changes with author) - Preparing the manuscript for conversion to XML - Checking proofs and communicating graphic amends to the designers - Editing content in both XML and InDesign - Guiding author through whole production process - Writing relevant biblio text including ONIX short descriptions, AI sheets for trade customers, website book page content and press releases - Editing author's cover and back cover text
