The English Language and Linguistics degree programme has equipped me with extensive linguistic and social knowledge allowing me to understand exactly how and why language works. The degree has allowed me to not only develop my independent, original thought but have a greater understanding about how language works in wider social situations. Through my degree I have been able to do modules in other subjects, like journalism which has expanded my written skills repertoire and allowed me to gain insight into how other industries work.
