I helped run the company's atelier with a wide range of responsibilities. My role included making samples and finished pieces, producing tech-packs, sourcing trims, performing quality control checks and occasionally running the shop, which involved helping customers and working at the till.
While working at Pink House Mustique I helped to develop their Atelier Collection of made-to-order garments, created from leftover silk of bulk productions. I was involved in the design process and sourced appropriate trims from various UK wholesalers. I cut and constructed all the garments produced by the UK atelier for the collection and was also in communication with the company’s St Vincent atelier about the production of new designs.

Fashion Design Study Abroad SemesterParis American Academy
- Paris, France
I spent four months studying Fashion Design in Paris. The course was equivalent to a 3rd year semester of an American fashion degree.
I was taught pattern drafting and draping and the process behind designing a collection. Over the course I designed two collections inspired by my time in Paris and developed my sewing skills with modules in couture techniques, historical fashion and fabric manipultaion. I practised techniques such as smocking, beading, corset making and embroidery and took weekly classes in intermediate French. I also worked backstage as a dresser during Paris Fashion week for the shows of Georges Hobeika and Alexandre Vauthier.
