Work history
    Editorial & Marketing Assistant
I have been working as an Editorial and Marketing Assistant at a new bridal magazine, and have learned many new skills during this short time. I was given the responsibility of updating their databases on Microsoft Excel, where I ensured that all their contacts were up to date. This has improved my researching and communication skills, as I have needed to get in touch with many international contacts during this process. I compiled a list of contacts of wedding dress designers onto a database, which has enhanced my knowledge of wedding fashion. I have also been assigned the task of proofreading various articles and making sure that they are grammatically and lexically correct, which has required me to be critical and analytical. I also write articles myself, which enables me to utilise my writing skills. They will be featured in the first issue in January 2015. I have gained valuable knowledge at this magazine, and was given the task of attending a launch for Jockey underwear, which allowed me to speak with PR’s and learn more about the industry. I attended the launch of the Downton Abbey app at the Ham Yard Hotel in Soho, where I interviewed the creators of the app; spoke to the finest speech expert, who provided an elocution master class. I also liaised with representatives from various other magazines. I also attended the World Travel Market. Recently, my editor provided me with my own project, whereby I had to provide the content and images for a luxury luggage article. I contacted a PR representative at Ted Baker and was invited to the travel and fashion launch, where they displayed the latest collection of luggage for Tumi, Bric, Ted Baker and Lulu Guinness. I also contacted the PR office for Rimowa and Steamline and obtained all the information and images that will be used in the article.

I also compiled a list of contacts of wedding dress designers onto a database, which enhanced my knowledge of wedding fashion. I proofread various articles and made sure they were grammatically and lexically correct, whilst also writing various articles and doing picture research for a high-end luxury luggage piece; this was featured in the magazine, for which I also contacted PR’s and attended a fashion and travel press launch, featuring the latest collection of luggage. I obtained the information about the range and wrote about them in the article. I developed an excellent relationship with my colleagues and often worked with them to discuss various ideas and deadlines, after which, we used our own initiative and create inspirational and creative articles for the magazine. I attended the launch of the Downton Abbey app at the Ham Yard Hotel in Soho, where I interviewed the creators of the app. I also attended the Debenhams launch to view their upcoming Christmas beauty range.
