Along with a background in illustration, I have a wide range of design skills for both screen and print. Having over a decade of experience in national newspapers has taught me a lot about print & typography, from traditional basics through to modern reproduction. Although primarily a designer & illustrator, I also have a great deal of experience in troubleshooting and production knowledge. I am a responsible team member and enjoy working with others on large, shared campaigns, but am equally happy to take on a project and see it through to completion alone. I have management experience in my current role, with responsibility for overseeing artwork, arranging and undertaking PDRs and client meetings.
As a Lead Designer I have developed several specialisms, including the conceptual work and design/coding of Flash advertising. I also have a great deal of Apple Keynote knowledge, putting together both high-level corporate presentations and impactful client-facing sales presentations. I'm used to working as part of a large team, and love being part of a big project. Equally though, I find it satisfying knocking a few small jobs out of the park as quickly as possible. I'm relied upon for helping out with quick ways to do things and sorting out Mac problems.
As an Art Director, I enjoy overseeing projects, getting them to print and receiving great client feedback. I find heading up a team of designers really satisfying and thrive and giving them encouragement and developing their skills.
Outside of work, I enjoy sailing, film, art galleries, and all the usual stuff designers should take an interest in. I can also make tea like a champ.
