I am an Illustration graduate from Middlesex University with a particular interest in maps, pattern work and anything in the editorial field. To create my work I mainly use Photoshop as I find this the most useful method to create the look I desire. I enjoy working to a brief and creating a piece that the client enjoys. I like to fully immerse myself into the clients vision and make it reality. Seeing the work I have completed come together as part of a larger project makes my work feel worthwhile and that I am a valuable part of the creative team. Skills •Highly organised and driven individual, striving to complete Tasks in a timely and efficient manor to the best of my ability. •Passionate about art and all the different mediums open to me. •Proficient user of Microsoft applications, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Outlook. •Able to express my individual flare and creativity using the history of art as well as modern influences. I have a unique style that reflects my personality. •Works well alone and as part of a team — able to manage one’s own time.
I create prints and greeting cards with the love and inspiration I get from gardening and anything old, retro or vintage. I use muted pastel colours as palette. I am currently updating my website.
I applied for a role as a graphic designer and became a publishing executive, designing advertisements for companies around the world who I would liaise with to make their vision reality. Duties included: • Liaising with clients world wide • Designing advertisements • Researching clients’ companies to create a bespoke design • Preparing artwork for print
During my time studying, I worked part time at a public house to gain some experience in customer service and administration. I started as bar staff and was quickly promoted to Assistant bar manager as I took the initiative to plan events that bought customers in. I also put in a place a weekly quiz night that proved to be extremely popular. In the absence of the bar manager, I managed a staff of 4. Duties included: • Cashing up • Liaising with customers • Resolving conflicts, often having to keep very calm in pressurised situations • Leading a team in the absence of the bar manager • Event planning, coming up with ideas for parties such as weddings, birthdays and funerals • Advertising promotions and marketing them to the public
I volunteered to do some work experience at an advertising agency to get an insight into a professional working environment. During this time I learnt valuable lessons in how to deal with customers and how to work with colleagues on a professional level. I enjoyed working in this environment as it was very creative and I could put to use my flair for art. Duties included: • Putting together story boards for adverts • Creating presentations for meetings • Attending meetings to minute take • Assisting with graphic design for adverts • Meeting clients to present ideas
I Finished with a 2.1
