If you are reading my profile you will be intrigued (or perplexed) to see I currently live in Dubai. It's true. However, I am looking to return to the UK for the right opportunity. I have been here a long time and learned a lot about the business, the culture and how to gel a room full of nationalities into a cohesive team.
I am getting ahead of myself - and probably in danger of having this email / application end up in the bin.
My name is Andy Langdell, I am an experienced agency guy. I have spent the last 14 years in Dubai (after starting out in my native London). I am a client service director 'by trade', at least that's what it says on my business card. But having worked for a number of independent and network agencies here. I have experienced traditional ATL ad agencies, start-ups, brand consultancies, and brand communications agencies.
I could wear any number of hats. From creative direction (and meddler), copywriter, brand strategist, campaign creator, business developer, media buyer, digital marketer, social media adopter, activation executor, content creator, recruiter, boss, mentor, and friend. I could go on, but you get the idea.
Independent agencies demand dynamic, multi-skilled and adaptable people, so over the years I have evolved and grown into a rounded, senior agency team player and marketer. But perhaps as important, is the experience and ability to find good talent and then nurture this, in a smaller team chemistry can make great things happen.
However, at my heart I am a 'brand guy'. I am passionate about brand building, managing, planning, strategizing and above all, maximising a brands equity. Never has the challenge been greater than in the digital age. Brands have more platforms to own and more opportunities to interact with their audience, plus they now have to cope with social media, peer review and crowd sourced advice and knowledge.
I have just begun my UK search, but this role jumped out at me immediately. It is the chance to be part of a dynamic, vibrant social media-led phenomenon. I see a lot of parallels in my experience, I think I would make a great addition to your team.
