Having been a professional editor for over 10 years, 4 of which I was a Visual Effects Editor for Oscar-Winning VFX house 'Double Negative', I have worked across a broad spectrum of projects and for a hugely diverse mix of clients, each with differing outputs, but the thing that remains a constant is my professional drive and the respect I hold for the filmmaking process, whether it's been 6 months in the making, or only conceived of that morning. I've come to realise that in order to rouse, to ignite, to insight, empower and awaken through video, you have to constantly learn and adapt, you have to love what you do and you have to share your excitement.
After spending a rewarding time at SilkFred as their Senior Videographer in the marketing department, developing their online broadcasting capabilities, video marketing techniques and best practices, I am looking to make the transition into another challenging and fast-paced environment that will offer me the chance to further utilise my skills as a creative.
My tenure at SilkFred has not only given me the opportunity to develop my skills further as a filmmaker and broadcaster but allowed me to begin to impart my love and knowledge of the craft on the next generation of videographers and video editors.
Personally, I am creatively driven and throughout my career, I have utilised my skills as a videographer, photographer and video editor to make complex concepts interesting and engaging. I understand the nature of a diverse demographic and am able to adapt to different working environments in order to provide in-depth and informative videos to constantly evolving audiences.
I have experience of multimedia production, actively pitching and writing inventive, often abstract ideas for articles and videos. I instigate, operate and conduct filming, editing, sound mixing, animation creation and the lighting of filming locations. I am quick to understand a brief and provide creative ideas, with experience working on multiple projects simultaneously, under time-sensitive parameters.
Prior to my role as a VFX Editor, I headed up the Dneg camera department, establishing a previously absent booking system and inventory of all in-house equipment. With the assistance of 3 runners, we created a foundation upon which all future department employees now follow.

Senior Videographer/Editor and technical specialist for online fashion marketplace, SilkFred.
Tasked with developing and testing innovative new online video marketing techniques for SilkFred’s social media channels and to train and mentor the marketing department’s young personnel in videography, editing, audio recording, grading and troubleshooting techniques.
I developed, directed and produced an innovative and cost-effective live broadcasting system for use during the Black Friday sales period, that integrated motion graphics, typography multi-camera support and audio integration in order to Livestream SilkFred's interactive Black Friday event to our social media channels.
The Black Friday sale videos were watched over 800,000 times over the course of 4 days (29th November - 2nd December 2019).
These videos were responsible for driving over 60,000 clicks to the website in the same period.
Created fresh, new, on-brand motion graphics for use across all channels. Conceived, shot and edited company promotional videos to entice outside investors. Shot and edited training and tutorial videos for the 800+ brands SilkFred represents.
Researched, developed and implemented a successful live broadcasting channel known as ‘Try on Tuesday’ through the use of inexpensive hardware and software known as ‘Sling Studio’.
Advised-on and outfitted SilkFred’s new production studio and led hands-on film making tutorials over lunch periods to help other departments understand and appreciate our processes.

The focus of this first year is a lecture series centred on analysing and developing knowledge of film, coupled with a production series that nurtures skills in all facets of short film-making.
The second year built upon my own interests and passions through elective options. These focused my learning and knowledge of cinema, in an environment that recognises and embraces the shifting nature of the medium. It strove to further my understanding of how the industry works, see the current trends in film form, style, theme and narrative, and network with experienced professionals.
Third year included a masterclass series with scholars and practitioners leading into further specialization and self-determining projects through dissertation and in practice. Progressed my professional practice, with my work supported by Falmouth as I developed my academia beyond graduation.
