About me
I am an ARB RIBA Architect, registered both in the UK and the EU. I have over 4 years of experience working for prominent British architectural practices (Turner.Works, Morris + Company, Atomik Architecture), where I have developed my skills both in 2D/3D visualisation, concept, planning and technical design. I have worked on a variety of projects, public and residential, and throughout my career I have been exposed to technical design stages, detailing and coordination work both on small self-led projects and as part of complex and international teams. I participated in design development process on different works’ stages and I was responsible for drawing packages and BIM modelling, planning, technical design and clients presentations. On the side to my work as an Architect I have also led the illustration and 3D visualisations role for various offices and consulting agencies and my images served as the key elements of multiple successful competitions and client presentations. I have produced visuals for the concept stages, presented to the clients and used as an ongoing project development tool, as well as marketing CGIs. My work have been presented on the offices’ websites and Instagram feeds, have been published in the prestigious professional magazines such as The Architect’s Journal and served as key illustrations and posters during consultation or charity-fund raising events. I am passionate about illustration and enjoy any rendering, painting or drawing-related task also outside working environment. I was born in northern Poland in the early 1990s, days after the communism ended. The social and urban transformation that I observed as a child was the beginning of my fascination with architecture and its potential to invigorate the existing and shape what is still to come. Growing up in an identikit, prefabricated concrete housing block between a post-Soviet factory and a glossy McDonalds, I saw how my city was cut-and-pasted with western elements: factories became museums, workers’ clubs kebab shops, and concrete blocks covered in bright billboards. This new, exotic layer was far from beautiful but I enjoyed the energy it carried, the way these alien interventions transformed the familiar. My interest in change also extends to the much broader question of how the current climate emergency should be tackled. With a lack of true top-down action, I believe that architects have a responsibility to collaborate with policymakers, developers and contractors to promote and build less wasteful living environments. At work I like to take a panoramic view of what I am working with first: the site, its people, its politics and economy. Only then I can begin to identify what is missing, what will give an extra boost of transformative energy and bring new life.
