About me
Hi there, my name is Anna and I am a Commercial and Fine Art photographer from Castlewellan, Ireland. Born in 1992, I became passionate about the creative arts throughout my studies which lead to me completing a Bachelor of Arts with Honours (2:1) in Photography (2012-2016) at the Ulster University, Belfast. During my time at Ulster, I explored many areas of photography and grasped all opportunities available. In 2014 I participated in a exchange with students from the Fondazione Studio Marangoni, Florence, Italy. In 2015 I lived and studied in The Netherlands at the The Royal Academy of Arts (KABK) in Den Haag as part of the Erasmus exchange programme. I enjoy collaborating with other artists but can also work confidently alone. As well as carrying out the role of photographer I have also pursued other roles within the industry such as directing, performing, acting, singing, editing and videography. Now that I have finished my education I am keen to develop my knowledge and experience within the photography and publishing sector, particularly in production and assisting. I enjoy being part of a project and collaborating with other creatives to achieve a great result. Projects
  • An Sceal de na Sheoques.
An Sceal de na Sheoques.A narrative piece exploring the mystical tale of the fairies and their offspring, the Sheoques.
  • The Oxygen Crisis
The Oxygen CrisisCrisis: a time of intense danger or difficulty. In today’s society we are surrounded by issues of concern that come in many forms, economical, social, political and environmental. The services we once relied on are falling away and we lack resources. What would happen if our reserves ran out? Imagine a world without the most basic of materials such as water, light, fire or air. How would we survive? Experimenting with the concept of an ‘Oxygen Crisis’, I constructed a number of fictional scenarios and illustrated my generation attempting to conform to a new form of civilisation. A world without Oxygen.
  • Gentle Hugs
Gentle Hugs"Gentle Hugs" explores Fibromyalgia, a complex chronic pain disorder that affects people mentally. physically, emotionally and socially. Many patients with Fibromyalgia describe experiencing pain all over varying in severity and form. Despite it's recognition, there is controversy about the cause and nature of Fibromyalgia as there is currently no specific test to diagnose the condition and so many patient's symptoms and pain are not taken seriously. With this, comes struggles on a daily basis to normal things that many taken for granted. Imagine struggling to just lift your head off the pillow, showering, dressing and eating. As a young sufferer of the condition, (diagnosed at the age of twenty three) I sought acceptance and understanding for this new condition and way of life. Photography was and still is my therapy"
