I am an international student studying Media and Communications at Goldsmiths, with a specialization in photography. I am interested in exploring how the arts can be used to communicate and interact with the sciences. I have experience working in art galleries, as well as research labs. Outside of work I enjoy outdoor activities, painting, musical theatre, and playing guitar.

As a work-placement intern, I assisted the Marketing and Audience Development Manager. I also spent a day each with their social media consultant, their web designer, their digital designer, and their PR consultant, learning about what they do and how the different departments and freelancers work together. Most of my time was spent researching and buying merchandise for marketing purposes, commissioning and overseeing the designs of the merchandise, updating the website blog, and using Google Analytics to track social media flow. I was also in charge of organizing and managing the YouTube page, researching how similar companies structure their pages and then commissioning work from the designers and filmmakers involved to create a polished, branded, and organized page.

Gallery InternThe Brick Lane Gallery

As an intern, I researched and made first contact with new artists via email and Instagram, providing them with information and support to exhibit at the gallery. I assisted with other administrative duties such as writing up press releases, and using Photoshop to create flyers, posters, and other marketing materials. Several times a month I assisted with taking down and putting up new exhibits; this required learning how to safely handle many types of art (oil, acrylic, photo prints, ceramics, etc), packing art works securely for shipping, cleaning the space, and hanging new works in an orderly and thoughtful layout.
