About me
With a background in music, as well as skills in media production, copywriting, journalism, and web programming, I'm a multi-tasking, tenacious, adaptable and creative individual who loves problem-solving, writing the perfect copy, harnessing the power of data (yes, I'm a geek), and bringing a human touch to customer interaction and engagement. I'm a huge music fan, but I’ve also been in bands, experiencing the industry from the inside out, in all its sweaty, amp-lugging, warm-beer-swilling, tragi-comic glory. I’ve also clocked up a really good network of artist, manager, label, and agent contacts along the way, many of whom I’m also lucky to call friends. All of this has been done alongside my work as a business development, client relations and account manager for some notable music and media companies and brands. Whilst I’ve worked hard to balance the different parts of my identity, I’ve also found that they cross over and inform each other more than you might think. Away from the tangled web of guitar cables, I have some solid experience behind the scenes, running my own record label and live promotions outfit, Snakes & Ladders, which taught me a huge amount about the business of music; from mastering the dark art of PRS and PPL registrations, to arranging P-1 visas for bands to play at CMJ, gig promotion, dabbling in DIY press and radio plugging, overseeing CD and vinyl production and distribution, trademarking, and much more. My other passion is writing, and I’ve worked as a freelance music journalist, news editor, features writer and chief sub-editor for a number of online and print publications, as well as undertaking copywriting and content creation for brands. Be it a song lyric, a gig review, a tweet, or a well-written email, I believe the right words can have a huge amount of power and sway. I was promoted to my current role at Media Match - a US-based TV and film crewing site - after five years working for UK Music Jobs (our sister company), and this saw me step up to account manage for major clients such as HBO, Netflix, Lionsgate, Disney, and Buzzfeed. In 2020, I co-founded ProductionHive in collaboration with my colleagues, and we now have over 2,000 UK production companies, film studios, and broadcasters using the service to hire crew, including ITV, Channel 4, BBC, Viacom, Warner Bros., VICE and more. I’ve loved having the opportunity to build personal relationships with production teams across the industry, and I feel I’ve really excelled at getting people on board with what we’re doing.

Working with a small team, I co-founded and helped lead the development of ProductionHive, a new online crewing platform for the UK TV and film industry. Launching in beta in June 2020, we have since grown the site into a community of more than 8,000 highly experienced production professionals, with over 2,000 production companies, film studios, and broadcasters now using the service to find crew, including ITV, Channel 4, BBC, Tiger Aspect, Optomen, Viacom, Warner Bros., Thames, Talkback and many more. My role involves helping to develop new concepts for the service, alongside account managing for our industry clients and partners, and nurturing our freelancer database, all with the goal of connecting TV and film productions with incredible crew. One of the best aspects of the job is having the chance to build personal relationships with talent managers and production teams across the industry; from heavyweight broadcasters, to legendary film studios, to indie documentary makers, and everything in between.
