Annabelle received a 2:1 in English Language and Linguistics at the University of Edinburgh. She explored the history of English by studying it's roots in the Germanic family tree and Old English variants. Alongside this, she studied Psycholinguistics and analysed how the human brain processes language. Moreover, Annabelle focused on the differences and connections between primate communication and human language through centring her dissertation around the evolution of language. To do this, she tested whether humans could understand primate calls. Synaesthetes were included as participants to see if they were more successful than non-synaesthetes in this task.
