About me
The area I work in is the cross over between graphic design, psychology and consciousness, which is the link of intuitive communication with physical communication. I am naturally curious and have been conducting a personal study into how / why people perceive or attach to visuals based on personality. I am fascinated about how graphic design can be used to communicate an authentic identity that connects to intended demographics more intuitively. I hope I can bring a broader psychological and philosophical understanding into the generation of design coupled with skills in Colour, Style and Material Psychology. I have recently completed a graphic design internship at NoChintz, a full branding and interior design studio based in Manchester, during which I advanced my technical skills and learnt about the relationship between graphic design and space. Prior to this I worked as a Freelance Designer in corporate, beauty and events. I believe my strongest capability is systemic intuition; being able to tap into the distilled essence of colour or style and its links to brands and demographics. As a Fine Art graduate I developed my lateral thinking through being confident in my intuition and working in graphic design I practice, on a daily basis, transforming this into commercial creative outcomes. At NoChintz they recognised my strength at creative research and idea generation for brand identities, while working for Beautimeter I was regularly tasked with visual market research into the digital beauty industry and present back ideas for design and function. I am regularly praised for my positive energetic approach to work and being a ‘self-starter’. Being creative is a core value I embody. This is not only in my work life but also in my personal as an artist, photographer, craftsperson and philosophical researcher around consciousness. I have worked in creative collaborative teams in my agency experiences and also work in art collectives during my spare time and while at university. Exciting creative work is continually being articulated as a collaborative process, which I would agree. From these situations, I have developed a clear understanding of communication that supports the process. I believe it is important to always be open to learning and keeping an eye on industry evolution. I have developed an extensive database of insight sources, and continue to update this. You will see from my CV I have experience across a range of areas including: colour and material trend, beauty, interiors of retail, bars and restaurants, FMCG, arts and events. My creative design, philosophical and psychological competencies cover this range of industry areas and therefore, I am looking for a role that has the potential to encompass all of this.
