I move to London in 2012, when I was 19 years old with the dream and the purpose of working in the film industry. After achieving a first-class degree in media studies from The University of the Arts London, I started working on major feature films as an editorial assistant and I worked my way up to become an assistant editor. My credits include Tim Burton’s Dumbo, Cruella, Joe Wright’s Cyrano, Robert Egger’s latest film The Northman and George Clooney’s film The Boys in the Boat.
Through observational learning paired with hands-on experience working with some of the top filmmakers in the world, I transferred my assistant editor experiences to my own projects as a director and editor.
My first short film “A Pig in a Cage on Antibiotics” screened at four UK festivals including “Underwire Festival” where I was nominated as Best Director Under 25. The movie explores the theme of urban alienation and loneliness. After that, I made a short documentary called "Sex, Drugs and Homelessness" in the district of Downtown Los Angeles analysing marginalisation and inequality in the United States. In London, I made my second short film "Voices of the City". The film is all set in a double-decker bus where six characters will bring to light their urban experiences. The short won best UK short at the London Indie Short Festival and best female director at Phoenix Shorts. Moreover, it has been selected at Toronto International Women Film Festival, semi-finalist at Gold Movie Awards, finalist at Vancouver Independent Film Festival and Spello Short film festival.
