About me
Back in August 2020, I found out I was being made redundant after spending 20 years working for the same group of companies. It hurt. Of course it did. We were also in the middle of a global pandemic, and I was in my late 40 so who on earth was going to hire me (big imposter syndrome right here). So I started looking for jobs in the same industry as I have always worked in. It felt safe. But I knew something was missing and it's only when I came across a webinar on coaching that I felt everything about it resonated with me. And I thought, 'heck, if I have to work until I'm 67, I might as well do something that I not only like, but something that also fulfils me'.
So I took the plunge, signed up for a Diploma in Personal Performance Coaching and started studying again alongside my full time job. I qualified with a Distinction 18 months later, having gained other specialist competencies and certificates along the way. It was hard but a real eye-opener for me. And what I loved the most was that totally exhilarating feeling I had when I knew I helped one of my clients. It is a feeling I want to have every day.
So after months of procrastination (I had to coach myself on that!!), I decided to launch my own coaching practice. So that's where I am now. I still have the occasional battle with imposter syndrome but I usually win.
