About me
Annie Harmeston, 26, is a dynamic London-based Director and Photographer known for her vibrant, playful, and satirical visual storytelling. Armed with a BA in Media and Communications from Goldsmiths and an MA in Fashion Media Production from the London College of Fashion, she's quickly made waves in the industry. Since graduating in 2021, Annie has won awards for Best Emerging Talent, Production Design, and Styling, particularly for her debut fashion film, Quick Fix. Her work, spanning both moving and still images, bursts with bold colours and imaginative narratives, tackling themes like feminine beauty ideals and consumerism while delving into taboo subjects and challenging societal norms. Notable projects include the retro-futuristic music video Ton Ego by Sarah Sey, which showcases her talent for blending conceptual depth with visually striking aesthetics. Annie's varied roles include directing, producing, editing, and production design, showcasing her versatility. According to Vicky Mather, Course Leader at UAL, "Annie has a strong voice that would benefit any creative team or production company." Annie's unique style is leaving an indelible mark on the visual arts scene.
Projects
  • Ton Ego - Sarah Sey (music video)
Ton Ego - Sarah Sey (music video)I wrote, directed, produced and edited a music video for up and coming French artist Sarah Sey. 'A self-centred young girl is detained and tormented by her own ego '
  • Enough Is Never Enough
Enough Is Never EnoughI art directed on upcoming director Oscar Ryan's video for Irish punk band The Clockworks.
  • Quick Fix
Quick FixA short, but but oh-so-sweet story of a user's journey on the way to ultimate self- optimization. Quick Fix is a fashion film which reveals the narrative strategies and existing issues of femvertising in the form of parody. Illuminating themes of consumerism, beauty and feminism, this playful short, with its abundance of ridiculous products and vibrant colours, satirically questions the notion of self-care online.
