Hi! I'm a creative Londoner, who has just finished a degree in Fashion Communication and Promotion. Working within a creative industry is my goal, so that I can showcase my CAD and research skills. I have academic and professional experience working to a tight deadline, to create a brand, magazine, communication plan and social media strategies. I am a tea obsessive who loves galleries, museums and cooking. After having researched into dress, clothing and ethnicity history for my dissertation I have found that academic and reactive research is a field I love, and want to continue to pursue as a career. Please feel free to check out my portfolio and contact me about possible jobs!
Leading tutorials with FCP first and second year students as part of my scholarship, this involved examining the students critical journals, and giving my opinion on the work, whilst also advising them on the content. I’m finding teaching incredibly rewarding as it gives me a chance to engage with new students and connect with them over fashion and news topics on a weekly basis.
Working for a local recruitment company has introduced me to a different world of jobs and careers. I am responsible for of the Facebook, website blog and the LinkedIn, creating relevant posts for both candidates and clients by taking my own photographs and sourcing engaging articles. Creating their Facebook page from scratch has meant that I have been able to watch it grow in popularity, it has also enabled me to constantly evolve, through looking at what types of content people engage with the most.
Spent a week shadowing at a growing fashion company, who are about to release a full range A/W range. I spent the week organising the new collection, keeping track of both the front end and back end of the website using Magento. I also created promotional Eshots for a variety of pieces in the collection. I worked as part of a team, where I was given a lot of creative freedom as well as experience in website management.
While working on a variety of hair and beauty accounts (Vatika, Airbase, Australian Body Care and Sleek Hair) I produced professional physical and digital mail-outs for press and bloggers. I wrote regular press releases, stories and quotes to be sent to both consumer and trade press. I also ran the social media accounts for the previously mentioned brands. During my time I was part of their first press day, which I helped to manage. I also received basic in-house sales training, which involved speaking to businesses, stockists and consumers.
Currently ongoing with the help of a Vice Chancellor scholarship. Looking at the anthropological connections between modest dressing women and there clothing choices.
