For the last 18 months, I have been working as Content and Communications Manager for an arts and live events company. Fast-paced, interchangeable and challenging, my job requires diversity, energy and the ability to successfully and creatively solve problems for tight deadlines. From LEGO-related events to Art Fair, I have been the front line contact for galleries, partners, licensees and contractors for events from start to finish. I have been in a position of authority but also learnt an incredible amount in a short space of time. I strive to be creative and mindful with every decision, tackling each problem with a clear understanding of the context, the deadline and the client’s requirements. Brick Live are launching events across around the world and so this role requires me to be dynamic, work well under pressure, work independently, and to be a confident communicator with the ability to make decisions and be target driven. This role consists of liaising directly with franchise partners to ensure that contractual obligations for agreed content are met. Negotiating contracts with content providers. Assisting Chairman in compiling presentations for potential business investment, for event sponsorship and for potential new partners. Completing event reports after each show. Managing content inventory and assisting with new orders. Assisting graphic designer in the construction of company corporate website. Daily management of the corporate website. Assisting Account Managers on construction of budgets for events. Managing appropriate edits for all partner manuals. Constructing brand guidelines in coordination with Global Compliance Officer. Assisting Global Press Officer with press enquiries on site. Liaising with Crown Fine Art on shipping of content. Liaising with designers and manufacturers on event merchandising. Attending partner and sponsorship meeting with Chairman and coordinating follow up.
I played a major role in the third and fourth edition of START at the Saatchi Gallery, the launch of START Doha and the coordination of PCA’s events. My role requires flexibility, quick thinking and astute attention to detail and creativity. Coordinating with PR company with media partners and press. Liaising with graphic designer for the publication of catalogue. Assisting COO in operations for the fair. Compiling comprehensive presentations for new business development. Assisting Chairman on liaising with TV production companies, editing contracts, budgeting and people management. Working with founders on the promotion of The Classic Rock Awards. Acting as main contact on site for the inaugural edition of START Doha; liaising with all galleries, Hasenkamp for shippers and W Doha Hotel with all fair promotions; liaising with The New York Times for co-promotion of the fair and publication of catalogue. This role coincides with my role at Brick Live Group.
Researched artists and writing short biographies for publications. Assisted curators on exhibition installation, budgeting, quality control. Acted as main contact for a group of VIP prior to exhibition, leading a tour round on-site and off-site exhibitions.
Assisted the set up for Strachan Fine Art booth. Assisted Art Dealer during the fairs on sales and management of booth.
