My work includes assisting in the management of a team of between 8-15 people; ensuring that the overall running of the venue goes smoothly and to company expectations. I regularly liaise with the company owner to give updates on the staff and venue, and express any concerns I may have, in addition to ideas about how to improve venue workings. I cash up tills, ensure the venue is kept tidy and lock up the venue at the end of the night, making sure everything is ready for the shifts the next day. In addition to the daily running of the venue, I run events for the venue, in some cases booking the event in after touring the venue with the client and aiding in the management of the start to end process in order to ensure our clients get the best and most effective service possible from us as a company.

My internship includes writing two online blog articles a week taken from a list of suggested content. I split my time between general posts and Fashion specific posts, with a main preference for writing fashion articles. For each post I had to write a minimum of 10 ‘points’, source pictures and format the article ready for publication. This was a self-managed role, working to deadlines without prompting and ensuring the content was up to a high standard for release.

I flourished in the writing section of the course, demonstrating my ability to effectively put forward a point after reading source material in a clear and concise way.
Much of the course was spend studying the social, political and economical backgrounds to a variety of plays which created a well rounded course.
