I’m a designer maker whose practice focuses on using natural materials such as paper, and food and plant waste, repurposing them into functional products to present solutions to the socio-environmental problems prevalent today. Researching through making, I develop my ideas with a multidisciplinary approach, merging disciplines and techniques.
I recognize that materials lie in the core of a project and working with these has helped me understand how each material requires unique techniques and processes. Over the course of my practice, I have learned to conduct extensive primary and secondary research to differentiate between good waste and bad waste. Using sustainable materials to make functional products for daily rituals is one of the best ways to give back to the planet and be a part of the circular economy. This approach lies in the very core of my practice. Currently I am interested in how we can create modular furniture and interior products using waste materials and colours and pigments drawn from the earth.
