Aoife O'Kelly is an Irish writer/director, based in London. In 2016 she graduated with distinction on her MA Directing Fiction at Goldsmith's University, London. Prior to this she graduated with a BA in English Literature and Psychology and also holds a 1st Class Honours Msc in Applied Digital Media.
Aoife has always been involved in drama and theatre from a young age, as well as art and creative writing. Combining all these elements, she decided to pursue her passion for films in 2010, beginning as a production assistant and editor and working for many renowned companies including Ireland's National Broadcaster, RTÉ and one of Ireland's top TV & Film production companies, Blinder Films. Over the years, she has attempted to learn as much about filmmaking as possible by working in almost every film and TV department before finally diving into directing.
Since committing to directing full time in 2016, Aoife has made three short films, she was shortlisted to in 2017 for the London Calling Film Fund and her graduation film Lula has been screened in four festivals so far and nominated for 5 awards including Best Student Short Film at the London Short Film Festival.
Aoife is currently writing her first feature film due to be shot in October 2017. Her films aim to combine striking visuals that convey truthful and unusual humanistic stories.
