I am a currently self-employed graphic designer with a diverse portfolio after four years of managing projects with over thirty-five clients. I have a strong illustrative background, a passion for typography and working with previously unused materials and processes influenced by my scientific investigations. My strong understanding of the Adobe Suite and in-depth research leads my designs to be precise and intuitive and reflect my interests in contemporary design. I am looking to contribute to the work of a forward-thinking agency with high profile clients who will make use of my diverse skill sets in typography, spacial design, illustration and branding.
Projects
- 4 £ SOAP The average human body contains 4lbs of bacteria. I chose to represent this as a block of soap, sweet smelling, soft to the touch, home made with shea butter. The smell evoked memories of childhood for me. We are always seeking to decrease the amount of bacteria on our skin, but how much do we really know about it? A visual representation of the weight of the average amount of bacteria contained in a human body surprises the "average human". "All this is in me?" What are we if not tower blocks of bacteria, constantly changing. The paper towels depict the NHS guide of how to properly clean your hands, the ink is mixed with uv powder, so even after people washed their hands with the oversized soap, then dried them off. Under the UV light at the end of the installation the participant would then see that they are still covered in something, drawing attention to the participants own microbiome. This short video seeks questions the viewer perception on their sense of self.

I gained so much incite during my degree, I learned that graphic design makes a powerful contribution to the cultural and economic life of contemporary society. It exists in the public domain, acts as an indicator of current cultural thinking and is a catalyst for social, cultural and political change.
The role of the graphic designer in society and the professional world is multifaceted; designer as curator, author, craftsperson, editor, educator, collaborator, and agitator. BA(Hons) Graphic Design is based at the Arnolfini, at the heart of Bristol's creative and cultural community. I was lucky enough to learn from practicing graphic designers in a professional studio environment.
