About me
Since finishing my French degree at the University of Leeds, I spent 9 months as an intern at openDemocracy - a non-profit digital commons newspaper - and launched a non-profit arts organisation called ROOT 73. I have worked in the service sector as well as in office based and academic roles, and have gained a breadth of experience as a result. One of my interests is in building effective teams who enjoy their work, and I have always nurtured an ability to communicate with very different circles. At oD I was a part of a core team of 10, working with academic experts, political activists, and journalists skilled in addressing an increasingly demanding global readership. At ROOT 73 I work with a small team to help young and underprivileged artists. Having grown up in Hackney and spent a year in the northern banlieue of Paris working in a lycée, I feel that I have a breadth of experience in communicating, building relations, and adapting. I am relatively young, I have boundless creative energy and I am quick to learn.

ROOT 73ROOT 73 is a non-profit arts organisation which challenges the constraints of traditional industry structures, and connects the dots between the artists in our community. We are based in Hackney, London, and we launched on February 29th 2016. ROOT 73 provides cross-medium support to artists without claiming any form of ownership of their art. We work with young artists from many different backgrounds to facilitate and support creative projects of all kinds. We scout and meet with artists, discuss their desired projects, and work out a way to achieve their goals. We then work alongside these artists to produce their art to professional standards by offering them a focussed environment in which to work and by giving them access to high quality equipment, advice, and experience. We work using a project by project system, and see each one through start to finish. The service we offer is unique; we are not expecting any money from the artists, we do not own any rights to the art, and we do not operate using legally binding contracts.

I run ROOT 73, a non-profit community arts organisation which helps young underprivileged artists achieve the potential of their art by offering access to equipment, space, support and advice. My role is to direct and develop the organisation - I coordinate and curate every project, deciding on the necessary components such as equipment, personnel, and time-frames. I contact similar organisations, write funding proposals, and organise community events: securing free event spaces; liaising with the owners; booking the artists to perform or showcase their work; promoting physically and online; designing the event layout and schedule. I am in the process of handing over management responsibilities to one of my colleagues, in order that I can look for full or part-time paid work.
    Editorial Assistant
     - London, United KingdomInternship
At openDemocracy (oD), I took on numerous roles and worked in an office as a part of a small team. Reporting directly to the Editor-in-chief, I have experience in editing, translating, and publishing political articles, doing relevant picture research, managing (and curating the majority of the content for) the oD twitter account, as well as running their volunteer programme which I helped to design. I am fully up to speed with all social media channels. I mentioned above that I coordinated the oD volunteer program - this meant inducting, managing, and supervising a team of ten remote volunteers through various platforms. I also worked alongside the operations assistant to maintain a healthy and vibrant office environment. I was required to take minutes during editorial meetings, and I am proficient in various IT systems such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as mass mail-outs and staff calendar platforms.
