About me

Astrid Stavro was born in Trieste, Italy and studied graphic design at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in London, where she received her Bachelor of Arts (Hons) with a First Class Certificate. She graduated with a Master of Arts at The Royal College of Art (with Distinction) in 2004. Stavro then moved to Barcelona where she founded and directed the award winning Astrid Stavro Studio for ten years. Stavro has an international reputation for idea-based design, applied with exquisite typographic sensibility and attention to craft. In 2013 she founded the internationally acclaimed design firm Atlas alongside Pablo Martín, working from offices in New York and Palma de Mallorca. Stavro’s wide-ranging expertise encompasses the design of books, magazines, brand identities, posters, exhibitions, signage and packaging. Clients include Phaidon, Camper, Laurence King, Lars Müller Publishers, Wallpaper* magazine, CCCB (Barcelona’s Center of Contemporary Art) and the Barcelona Design Museum amongst many others.
