Auda Sakho is a French-Born Senegalese Costume Creatives and Designer. After
completing a Fashion foundation Degree in Paris she has worked as a freelance
Designer for Julian McDonald and Jonathan Saunders as a Sample Room Assistant
and Assistant Designer. After working as a freelance designer for nearly two years,
Auda decided to return to academia to further her art and pursue new techniques in
Costume Design. She graduated with a BA in Costume Design for Screen and
performance.
Auda Sakho is a versatile Costume designer whose work includes theatre, dance,
film and commercial. She went on to work on films and commercials for Film and
TV Company which leads her to work for UK Sony Pictures on Idents,
advertisements and more recently short-films for M4M UK Channel.
Auda believes that costume design is an art form from which delineate the
importance to the individual and its identity. Likewise she likes to think of
Costume Design as a kind of moving sculpture, by composing it with different
volumes. “The Physicality and psychology of characters are the pivotal point of my
stylistic research. I am fascinated by the varied ways that the innate silhouette of the body can be accentuated, exaggerated and distorted with clothes and accessories.”
