Dr Avşar Gürpınar is a scholar, designer and author. He is an Associate Professor and works as a Lecturer in Design at Loughborough University, School of Design and Creative Arts. His research focuses on Speculative Design, History of Art and Design, and Culture and Everyday Life. He is the Secretary-General of the Ambiguous Standards Institute, a research-based collaborative design project featuring a semi-fictional institute. His individual and collective works have been exhibited at Art Institute Chicago, Hong Kong Design Institute, and Istanbul Contemporary Museum, among others. He lives and works in the UK.
