Aycesu Duran (b. 1992 Fethiye, Turkey) is an artist and editor currently living and working in Istanbul. She completed her BA degree in sculpture at the Slade School of Fine Art, London.
Duran’s practice explores the ongoing process of civilization and its impact on the ways in which we interpret the absurdity of life and the physical world. Her interconnected sculptures, installations and videos portray curated juxtapositions of manufactured appliances, products of the earth or of animals, and figures of speech. Duran opened her first solo exhibition “Three Days Two Nights” at Pilot Gallery, Istanbul in 2019. Some of her group shows include; Curriculum Vitae, sub, Canakkale (2019), Midnight Cinema, Harlesden High Street, London (2017), Decadence, DAS Art Project, Istanbul (2017) and the good life, Market Peckham, London (2017).

As Turkish artist Halil Altındere's studio and editorial assistant I was in charge of carrying out the communication regarding the artist’s interviews, projects and exhibitions, as well as drafting the production budget and supervising the making of his artworks.

As the exhibition coordinator of renowned contemporary artist Halil Altindere’s solo show in Yapi Kredi Cultural Center, I was in charge of supervising the production of the artist's artworks.
My responsibilities included:
- Carrying out the communication between the artist, freelance craftsmen and Yapi Kredi Culture Art and Publishing.
- Drafting and negotiating the production budget.
- Directing the installation team to realize curator Hou Hanru's exhibition plan.
- Assisting in the organization of PR events, exhibition tours and related performances.
- Taking part in the editorial process and the publication of the artist’s monograph.
