After 8 fun years working for two of London’s leading radio brands, I decided to flee the FM nest in search of new adventures... With experience in sales coordination, copywriting and production management, I’ve realised my passion is for creating captivating content in all shapes, sizes and sounds!
• Scripting celeb-friendly entertainment news for Southern Cross Austereo’s 'Scoopla TV' • Reporting 2-3 stories from the UK/USA in engaging 60” TV episodes, presented by Charli Robinson. • Sourcing visuals (photo stills/video content) from stock image sites and matching their production codes with each story’s line of corresponding copy – for producers. • Liaising with the legal department to ensure scripts are non-defamatory and within broadcasting guidelines. • Providing the Digital Team with descriptive copy for publication on YouTube, Twitter and other social media sites (all videos are broadcast on the Southern Cross Ten, One and Eleven channels.)
The UK’s first uncensored and unregulated ad-free national radio network (via a subscription-based app.) • A one-man creative team working directly alongside the Commercial Head of Development. • Scripting sponsorships, product-placement messaging and bespoke show features for a team of award-winning comedy presenters. • Pro-actively sourcing and pitching business/commercial partnerships best suited to an 18-35 male demographic. • Directing the station’s sonic imaging and developing the web copy for fubarradio.com.
Developing and implementing innovative advertising ideas worthy of Magic 105.4’s 2 million weekly listeners. • Writing and detailing proactive/reactive creative solutions, in response to product briefs from National clients - including cross-platform opportunities (i.e. magazines) for sales pitches within a 24hr turnaround. • Project managing & scripting all initiatives from their concept to on air execution – including Station Presenters’ live reads, competition rounds and traditional spot advertising. • Providing Station Producers with copy, library music and voiceover recordings (directed in the studio) in order to create original & on-brand promotional trails and listener content. • Presenting ideas at agency/client business pitches, to help Account Managers sell-in creative solutions. • Liaising, briefing and coordinating client campaign objectives with multiple departments - Sales, Marketing, Programming, Station Presenters and Project Assistants. • Working with a Digital Team to ensure off-air elements of a campaign are delivered coherently (including: brainstorming, managing and attending video shoots for client activity hosted at magic.co.uk.) • Producing a Record of Transmission (bite-sized highlights) using Adobe Audition editing software. • Negotiating prize details for competition activity and managing station winners. • Example Brands: Coca-Cola UK, BT, Twentieth Century Fox, Warburtons, Sky, Samsung, Universal Pictures, and O2.
• Brainstorming, developing, writing, pitching and producing ideas for broadcast across market leading radio stations Magic 105.4 and The Kiss Network. • Key skils included script editing, proof-reading and prioritising workload/time management. • Collaborating with a team of 3 other script writers plus a Commerical Producer. • Working with both a Local & National sales team, in order to obtain accurate briefs from a large Agency & Client base. • Forging strong relationships with internal clients; to deliver campaigns for Bauer brands such as Grazia, FHM and Heat (plus managing the Radio Creative account for Kerrang Magazine & 4Music.) • Casting and directing both Equity and Celebrity voiceovers (suited to the client’s specific objectives and tone of voice.) • Recording voxpops at events and from the general public. • Accommodating client feedback to produce accurate and engaging results withing a deadline-driven environment. • Handling confidential material and information. • Raising Purchase Order Numbers and liaising with our Accounts department on a regular/monthly basis to ensure Voiceovers are paid and all Creative Revenue is tallied and reported accurately. • Other associated office admin. • Attending Client Hospitality events outside normal working hours.
• Planning, booking and managing payment of all on-air radio campaigns for 2 of London’s leading commercial radio brands; Magic 105.4 and Kiss 100. • Assisting a team of 10 successful Account Managers with all their pitches and presentations. • General client relationship management- ensuring clients are super served at all times to ensure revenue is at full potential, spotting and focusing on trends in the market and targeting relevant businesses to advertise with Magic. • Liaising with the Commercial Production department to update revenue spreadsheets and bill any off-air costs. • Maintaining and updating all records of Revenue Income, Team Targets and Sales Forecasts for Senior Management. • Organising events for clients; tasks include creating invites, compiling guest lists, booking and negotiating hospitality and seeing through the event of the evening. • Managing any outstanding client debt with the Shared Service Centre/Bauer Accounts Department. • Displaying a competent level of Trader Marketing experience- assisting the marketing manager in creating and sending out marketing material to current clients and potential clients.
