About me
I am a textiles artist specialising in screen printing, digital design and fabric manipulation. Within my work, I like to focus on surface design and texture, experimenting with interesting pattern and print qualities. It is important to me to use bright and vibrant colour within my work, always exploring ways in which I can create bold yet sophisticated designs. Colour is one of the main successes of my work and I am always inspired by vibrant shapes and patterns around me which I can use within my designs. Focusing on graphic shapes, textural qualities and adding surface detail to fabrics, I create experimental pieces which are unique to me. I focus towards a fashion application for my fabrics, in particular aimed towards a youth/young adult market, exploring ways in which I can create innovative and contemporary designs which are still individual to my design style. Through material exploration, I find distinctive ways in which I can experiment with fabric manipulation techniques to create tactile and inventive pieces. The way in which fabrics and designs would flow on the body is important to me when designing and this is something I always consider within my designs.
