I am a designer specialising in woven textiles. I explore colour, material and finish through experimental yarns and dyeing focusing on sustainability and wellbeing. I enjoy collaborating in a small team and am looking to create work in conjunction with trends and insights in a professional environment. I am keen to explore virtual design possibilities for my work through games or digital visualisations.
Projects
- DIGITAL RHYTHMSDigital rhythms explores colour, material and finish concerning electric automotive design using futuristic, modern buildings as visual inspiration. Digital methods interplay with craft resulting in bright, fragmented and glitchy woven textiles which evoke ordered and chaotic tech rhythms. The relationship of weave and computing play with the virtual environment and are transformed into 3D textures that unite a weaver and the digital world.
- WELLBEING FOR EARTHRugged, angular and exposed cliff faces contrast with smooth surfaces to inspire woven structures and materials to create sustainable interior fabrics. Sand and pebble tones are picked from coastlines to create a calm palette cut through with a hint of a brighter shade. Sustainable cloth is achieved through natural yarns, natural dyes and durable woven structures to prolong the life of the fabric.
- RECLAIMFluid spaces cocoon the anxious generation with homely hospitality and rehabilitate by going out to go home. Exposed and honest materials lay bare with soft, harmonious colours that sooth. Rhythmic patterns and craft rebuild a connection to slow living and allow on to re-inhabit a meditative space. Naturally sourced and dyed materials with emphasise a focus towards wellness and sustainability.
