Leading volunteer teams on two consecutive three month projects in rural Tanzania for Raleigh International. During these 6 months I lived and worked in the communities assigned to me, running an Entrepreneurship Programme to tackle unemployment amongst the youth population (18-35 years). My teams consisted of 15 people (UK & TZ) and as a Team Leader I was responsible for the management of the programme, relations within the community and the welfare of the volunteers.
The Entrepreneur Programme enables people in these communities to recognise the business opportunities in their area, start and manage their own business and pitch for a Raleigh Loan to get their idea off the ground.
