I work as a part-time bookseller in my local Waterstones, helping customers, recommending books, writing reviews, organising events and running the social media pages. I have successfully run a launch event for the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Screenplay, as well as raising the following on social media by 100 people in just over a month. I love working in the book industry, this is an area I am extremely passionate about.
I have worked as the official photographer for Splendid Fred Records and YMCA Hampshire. I organised myself and others in these roles; arranging locations, shoots and organising clients. I have taken headshots for various people for their careers, all of which can be viewed on my photography portfolio: http://bethbartholomew.wixsite.com/photography. I am interested in continuing my photography work on a freelance basis, having helped out on a wedding and various other events.
I worked as a Digital Marketing Executive for Essential, a marketing agency. In this role I was responsible for multiple companies’ social media, posting a variety of content. I also help to create infographics, as well as managing the back end of a companies’ website, dealing with requests for new pages on a deadline and using HTML coding to make changed to the site. I sent out weekly newsletters and reports, using mail chimp and google analytics.
I currently work during term time at the University of Winchester’s IT Helpdesk. Here I take on the role of the student helper, where I answer and direct calls and emails. I also assist in technical questions from students or staff members who come into the helpdesk, specialising in knowledge of Apple products. I also do admin work in the form of managing date in spreadsheets.
I worked on the shop floor as a sales assistant at Stormfront, which is a premium Apple reseller. In this role I sold Apple products, as well as other brands, this required me to have a high understanding of each product and how they worked. In this position I won a monthly award for the most sales across the UK stores.
I have taken modules during this degree course that have helped me become very familiar with various different cameras, as well as editing equipment for both film and photography. I have undertaken a digital distribution module that involved me creating two websites and marketing myself using these websites and social media, I obtained a high 2:1 in this module.
I achieved one of the top 40 sales in a month whilst working at Stormfront.
